  • Senior SQL Server Database Administrator/Developer

    As a Sr. DBA/Database Developer with Systema your role will span a number of areas.

    Operationally you will be responsible for the Database aspect of our SIMS Cloud (hosted offering).
    You will install, configure, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot SQL Server databases (Transactional and Data Warehouse) for our hosted clients.

    From a product perspective you will work with our Product Management team to further enhance and support both the Data Warehouse capabilities as well as our BI Solution, SIMS Insight

    Lastly you will support the Professional Services team with the self-hosted client’s installations as well as with aspects of the implementation and data conversion

    Required Skills:

  • Associate Implementation Specialist

    We are looking for 4 people to join our team as Associate Implementation Specialists to work alongside our existing Professional Services leaders, learning our product, our industry and gaining real world experience by contributing to the successful implementation of our award winning SIMS claims administration system for our clients. In addition our Associate Implementation Specialists will spend 20% of their time as members of the Support team which will expose them to many different client configurations, many different functional areas of the application as well as the back end aspects of supporting a multi-tiered .net/SQL Server web application.

    This will be a 12 month program where you will work under the direct supervision of our Sr. Solution Architects and Data Services Manager putting into practice the education you've worked so hard to gain. During this period you will be involved in all aspects of the Implementation process encompassing aspects of the following roles, the goal being that you'll move into one of these roles as an individual contributor at the end of the 12 months.

    • Business Analyst: You will be responsible for supporting the Solution Architects during the Implementation phase by gathering client requirements, documenting functional gaps, configuring the SIMS application, testing the delivered solution and supporting the client during their UAT phase.

    • Solution Architect: You will become very knowledgeable in the SIMS application both from a business perspective and from a technical perspective. You will be working with our clients business users to understand their business needs (within the scope of the contract), we expect you to challenge our clients so that they aren't asking for a new system that does exactly what their old system did with the same steps to achieve it, rather as their Solution Architect you will design a solution that helps our clients get the most out of their investment by using as much of the standard SIMS functionality as possible. You will be the technical leader of the implementation working jointly with the Project Manager and the support of the other team members.

    • Technical Specialist: You will be responsible for supporting the Solution Architects during the Implementation phase by creating new or customizing existing Interfaces between SIMS and other systems, creating new or customizing existing Reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, Report Builder and creating new or customizing existing Business Rules through Stored Procedures.

    • Data Conversion Specialist: You will be responsible for high quality data migration into SIMS by developing complex stored procedures, triggers, SSIS and Transact-SQL from multiple data sources (RDBMS, Flat Files and Mainframe Extracts), designing code to correct historical data issues, developing monitor and alert reports monitoring programs and executing the trial and final data migrations.

    We are looking for candidates who have recently graduated from a local bay area community college or university with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.

    Desired Technical Skills:

    • Solid understanding of basic Internet and data exchange technologies (browser based applications, HTTP, FTP, XML, Web Services).
    • Experience installing and configuring .net/SQL Server web applications in a multi-tiered architecture.

    This person will be responsible for the development of complex stored procedures and triggers, data conversions from multiple data sources using SSIS and Transact-SQL, report writing using SSRS, Business Rules development using Service Broker, Data Warehouse and Transactional systems maintenance tasks, and performance tuning.


    The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience and the ability to play multiple roles in the organization, mostly database development but some C# development may occasionally be required.
